Design

Both the base and advanced models of the Razer Blade 15 have the same design. It is really thin compared to an average gaming laptop. It has a high-end aluminum finish that you will love.

The advanced model has a more reduced RGB lighting than the base model. The base doesn’t have a UHS-III card reader and the Thunder Bolt 3 port to power the laptop.

Its webcam is just above the screen, surrounded by very thin bezels. However, at 720p for the base model, the image quality of the camera is low. It is good enough for video calls but just isn’t quite right for broadcasting when gaming.

In the 2019 model, which is the advanced model, Razer introduces Windows Hello facial recognition to the webcam array which is quite a handy feature even though it could be improved.

The keyboard is very comfortable and satisfying to use. Its weird layout known from previous generations has been fixed. The awkward arrangement of the ‘up’ arrow key in between ‘shift’ and ‘?’ keys has been resolved.

As for the trackpad on both models it is still incredible to use, however, it has one setback. The tracking surface is too close to the edge of the laptop which triggers minor palm rejection issues while navigating the OPS.

Display

Razer absolutely nails it with the display quality of the Blade 15. Both models come with a matte coating which effectively minimizes glare, even though the screen is just 1080p, it totally makes the most of what it is capable of doing. The base model has up to 144Hz full HD and on the advanced model is up to 240 Hz Full HD or OLED 4K touch.

Performance

Both models of the Razer Blade are equipped with up to 6-core intel core i7 processors and on the base model, the graphics cards you can opt for are Ge Force RTX 2060 or Ge Force GTX 1660 Ti, while on the advanced model, you can have a Ge Force RTX 2080 Max-Q.

Both models are packed with 16GB RAM. On the advanced model of the Razer Blade is the world’s first ever optical laptop switches in a gaming laptop which harnesses the speed of light to capture your inputs in a flash.

Both models of the Razer Blade are available with a 9th Gen Intel Code i7 Core processor in pair with NVIDIA. An awesome combination which can simultaneously play and stream latest games.

The advanced model uses a vapor chamber and some cutting-edge thermal materials to reduce heat, while the base model features a heat pipe system that can handle the thermal needs when its performing heavy tasks.

The Razer Blade 15 is one of the most powerful gaming laptops out there on the market. Both versions offer an ideal performance for any game thrown at them.

Choosing between the two models boils down to what you need and probably can afford as well. If you want a high-end gaming laptop that you can push limits on and crank up settings to the max, then go for the Advanced model.
