The Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED is a must-have for Content Creators

2020 has been a good year so far for content creators as more computer manufacturers have made the shift to making laptops dedicated to their type of workflow. Content creators need laptops with amazing thermals, excellent screens with high color accuracy, and of course, beefy processing components.

The Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED is one of those laptops that brings everything to the table for demanding users. The device is a 4k UHD laptop designed specifically to cater to the needs of content creators and beyond.

If you are a such user, then you should be really excited about the new model as it is the world’s first notebook with a Samsung AMOLED display. It is NVIDIA RTX Studio certified, and is the “industry only” laptop that has the latest UHS-II SD card reader built right into its chassis.

There are a bunch of other features that this machine offers. The Aero 15 is the world’s first Microsoft Azure AI notebook. And the “industry-first” laptop to implement 100% Samsung original memory and Intel 760p SSD.

What’s inside this powerhouse?

The Aero 15 OLED comes guns blazing with the latest 10th Gen Intel Core processors and the super-fast NVIDIA RTX Super graphics, all with the intent of delivering high performance with no compromise on battery life.

Depending on the configuration you decide to opt for, you will get the 10th Gen Intel Core i7 or i9 variant coupled with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. In the GPU department, the lowest configuration comes with the NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti. It goes all the way to the RTX 2080 Super Max-Q edition.

According to Gigabyte, the components in the Aero 15 OLED make it have 63% less image output time compared to similar multimedia computers.

Design and components

Several of the design features of this laptop shows just how much of the needs of content creators and other industry professionals were considered during the design process.

The 4K UHD display in the Aero 15 comes with an X-Rite Pantone color correction certified AMOLED display panel from Samsung. The screen supports 100% of DC-p3 color gamut coverage and has a contrast ratio of 100,000 to 1.

The screen is able to achieve 100% sRGB coverage and up to 96% of AdobeRGB coverage. The maximum brightness of 425 nits makes the Aero 15 OLED usable for Creatives. You should, however, avoid using this laptop outdoors due to its glossy nature.

The 3mm 3 side bezels means you get 15.6 inches of display that you can use with ease, and everything feels very vibrant and lifelike on the screen.

If all of the above sound like gibberish to you, then let’s talk about the ports found on the laptop.

The Aero 15 OLED comes with a full-size HDMI 2.0, 1 x USB 3.2 Type-A port, a mini DisplayPort, a headphone jack, and an RJ-45 ethernet port on the left side.

One the right side of the Aero 15 OLED, there are 2 x USB 3.2 Type-A ports, 1 x Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port, an SD card slot, and a power port.

Performance

The cooling system on the Aero 15 OLED is very effective as it comes with two fans that have 71 blades each and five heat pipes for heat dispelling. The only thing to note is that the fans can get a little loud when under a heavy workload.

The Aero 15 OLED stays completely cool while carrying out heavy workloads like gaming and rendering, only the bottom of the laptop gets warm during its operation.

The best part of the Aero 15 OLED is its ability to carry out both creative intensive and gaming tasks with ease. According to the verge, the Aero 15 is able to achieve up to 180fps at 1440p and 58fps in 4K while playing Doom Eternal.

For creative tasks that the Aero 15 OLED was specifically created for in the first place, it performs brilliantly well. According to the test results posted on THE VERGE, the Aero 15 OLED took only 5 minutes and 25 seconds to export a 5:33 4K video in Premiere Pro. This result is way faster than any MacBook Pro ever tested with the same file. The 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro, which is considered as midrange, took over 10 minutes to complete the same task.

Most of the credit goes to the better cooling system of the Aero 15 OLED, which helps its central and graphics processors to stay around 50 degrees Celsius all through the workload.

Battery

The battery can last up to 5 hours and 22 minutes in a saver mode under a multitasking workload, not involving heavy rendering.

Final Verdict

The kind of power that the Aero 15 OLED packs does not come at a cheap price tag. But for a content creator, it just might be worth it. Several other laptops offer similar performance for slightly lower price. Yet none of them come with the same OLED screen and a similar cooling system. We were really glad to be able to test this laptop here at SellBroke.

If you need it for work and you can afford it, then, by all means, go for it.
