The HP Elite Dragonfly is part of the first release under Intel’s Project Athena which guides Original Equipment Manufacturers to the production of modern-day devices that meet user’s needs. The computer was designed to include the usual features for a premium business laptop. HP dishes out this system in a Matte-blue Dragonfly color coupled with a screen to body ratio of 86% that makes it the world lightest business convertible laptop.

Design

 

This laptop comes in a strong magnesium chassis that has been tested to ensure it can handle treatment much more than what a normal laptop would endure on a daily basis in business and enterprise environments. It comes with a 720p webcam with IR support for Windows Hello facial recognition. There is a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication below the right side of the keyboard.

The dragonfly comes with a 13.3-inch IPS touch-screen display with full HD resolution. The keyboard is engineered in such a way that each key housing is on its spill-resistance premium backlit keyboard which is firm for working and don’t make much noise when typing. For specifications, this laptop is an 8th generation computer with Intel Core U-series processors which can fall between any of these Core i3-8145U, Core i7-8565U, Core i5-8265U, Core i5-8365U and Corei7-8665U with VPro. The processor runs at 1.8GHz up to 4.6GHz and possesses 16GB RAM. Storage consist of 32GB Intel Optane memory to aid with system boot up and to Launch application while 512GB PCle SSD for proper storage utility.

 

Wireless connectivity comes as a result of Intel’s Wi-Fi 6 AX200 module which supports the new Bluetooth 5 and the latest 802.11ax. There’s also provision for 4G LTE mobile broadband and not room for wired ethernet port due to the design of the laptop but it has other sets of connections such as its full size HDMI port, 3.5mm audio jack and two USB-C thunderbolt port which can both be used to charge the laptop. Close to the power button on the left side, there’s a USB 3.1 port. Security cable port and nano sim card slot.

 

Performance and battery life

 

This device is built for users who are always on the go and want to take their office everywhere they go. Its not built for heavy users or CAD and heavy video editing software users. The CPU performance for this device is top notch as well as the Disk performance. You can find the Dragonfly excelling on the Cinebench R15 OpenGL test. As for battery size, this specs of system comes with two battery size, a standard 2-cell 38Wh unit with 16.5 working time and a high capacity 4-cell 56.2Wh battery with 24 hours working time. With a fast charge feature, never run out of working power.
